The Freienohl Cross-Country Run took place at the Küppelkampfbahn Freienohl in wonderful weather and offered a great atmosphere. The main race, covering 8400 meters and leading seven times over the Ruhr loop, started promptly at 11:00 AM with 56 participants. A total of 161 runners of all age groups were present, and the overall winner was Andre Kraus in the men's category M50. The flat yet challenging course along the Ruhr meadows was "enhanced" with some obstacles, making spikes quite useful.
